Triumph hops are the newest variety released by the USDA public hops breeding program. Work on this hops lasted nearly two decades, but it had a major impact on the brewing community after its official release in 2019. While Triumph's initial acreage was small, high demand prompted farmers to expand. surface and the 2020 harvest is looking to be its breakthrough year.
The Triumph family consists of East Kent Goldings, Brewers Gold, Nugget and Hallertau Mittelfrüh and has been heavily used for the American Lager style. It has found space in fruit beers and IPAs thanks to its luminous aromas of lime, orange and peach.
Triumph is gentler than other fruity strains, but still robust enough to be used in a wide range of styles.
