Saphir Hop Pellets – Delicate Citrus Aroma
Saphir hop pellets, also known as Saphire, Sapphire, or Hallertau Saphir, are a German variety developed in 2002. With one of the lowest alpha acid levels on the market (2-5%), Saphir is primarily used as an aroma hop, ideal for late boil additions or dry hopping.
It features notes of citrus, sweet mandarin, and delicate spices, enhancing light and aromatic beers without overpowering their balance. Particularly suited for Belgian Ales, Wheats, and Witbiers, it offers an elegant and refined aromatic profile.
As an alternative, Hallertau Mittelfrüh can be used, providing a similar German noble hop character.
